Franco Cesarini (* 18. April 1961 in Bellinzona, Tessin ) ist ein Schweizer Komponist , Dirigent und Musiker .

Er studierte zunächst am Konservatorium in Mailand , Italien , in den Fächern Klavier und Flöte . Diese Studien setzte er später am Konservatorium in Basel, Schweiz , fort. Zu seinen Lehrern zählten Robert Suter und Jacques Wildberger Theorie und Komposition , Peter-Lukas Graf Flöte und Felix Hauswirth Blasmusikdirektion .

An der Musikhochschule in Zürich doziert er seit 1989 und am Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano seit 2001 Blasorchesterdirektion. 2001 berief ihn das Höheres Europäisches Institut für Blasorchester (ISEB) in Trento , Italien , zum Dozenten für Komposition .

Er ist gegenwärtig Dirigent der Civica filarmonica di Lugano.

Kompositorisch widmet er sich vonehmlich dem Medium Blasorchester zu, aber in seinem Œuvre finden sich auch Werke für Sinfonieorchester, Streichorchester, Bläser-Ensemble und Kammermusikwerke.
